#TempleCare Cooking – The Class is a fun and informative cooking party.
Step into my kitchen and get hands on experience making healthy meals that taste great.
Each monthly session of TempleCare Cooking – The Class will focus on a class of food. A 1 1/2 hour instruction period will examine the good, the bad and the better.
- The good – we’ll break the food class down, defining characteristic flavors and textures we love.
- The bad – next, we’ll outline common ‘health hazard’ ingredients and preparations used to attain those characteristics.
- The better – finally, we’ll investigate ingredient swaps and/or alternate cooking strategies that increase nutrition, without sacrificing taste. Participants will get hands on experience with a recipe that uses some of the alternate methods.
The next hour of class is reserved for fellowship and enjoyment of the resulting meal.
The class is interactive and questions are welcomed at any time. Class size is limited to insure personalized instruction and we expect classes to fill quickly. Register early to secure your spot.
The class cost is $45. This fee includes the 2 1/2 hour session, class notes, (including strategies, references and additional recipes), all ingredients, equipment & a full meal.
Sessions are held at my home in Plantation Estates in Denham Springs (just off I-12, ~10 miles east of Baton Rouge and easy to find). Detailed directions provided to registered participants.
Participants must be 18 or older (unless specified otherwise in the class description).
Refund policy: Class fees are not refundable. A company credit, good for products/services offered by Nettye Johnson Faith and Fitness Services, will be issued if a cancellation request is received via email at least 48 hours prior to class.
Remote Learning Option
Can’t make an in person class?
We can’t pack the food and fun, but we can send valuable information and resources from the session your way.
Purchase this remote learning option and receive a CD manual including a recap of the hands-on class, class notes, resources and additional recipes. The CD cost is $10 (plus shipping and handling).
